Here are a few cards made for 2021...

Pictures 1,2 and 3 are  Paper Pumpkin Alternative ~ Wiper Card (Cased from Rachael Tessman)

Pictures 4 and 5 are my sample card for a Spinning Card ~ the baseball does a slight spin when opened.

Pictures 6 and 7 are of a fund fold card.

Pictures 8 and 9 are of a baby card made for my grand-niece.

Photos 10, 11, and 12 are of a box pop-up card ~ again using Paper Pumpkin.

Most of my cards are cased (copied) from Rachael Tessman. Only the baby card is my design...very simple card!

July 5, 2019

Whew, I cannot believe the Fourth of July has come and gone already...the days are flying by!

I have recently started a Stamp Club as an addition to my Card  Classes. My card classes meet on the odd numbered months, and Stamp Club meets on the even numbered months.

Card Class: January, March, May, July, September, Novemeber
Stamp Club: February, April, June, August, October, December ... well, maybe not December!

Stamp Club, met on June 18. We decided each hostess will select a Stamp Set, theme, color, paper...whatever they decide. Lois was the hostess for the first meeting. Beautiful Promenade was the selected stamp set. Only one card is necessary, but I decided that my original idea was rather involved an complicated, so another card was designed (same design, just less cut outs involved. It was fun to make and create.

Stampin' Up! has announced that July's Paper Pumpkin kit will coordinate very nicely with three stamp sets. These past few months, I believe Stampin' Up! has stepped up their game, and many demonstrators (me included) have been very pleased with the kits that are now available.

These kits must be ordered by the 10th of each month. They don't last long, so get your subscription ordered as soon as you possibly can. Let me know how I can help!

Today is Sunday. Too busy trying to figure out my Stampin' Up! Blog...and guess what, I still can't figure it out! It is so frustrating!

I am trying to upload a video onto this site, but I can't seem to figure this out either! Boy, do I ever need help!

Ah ha! My son came in to help me upload this video! Hallelujah! Gotter done, so to speak!

Okay, here are the directions to make this card. It looks harder than it really is. The only stamping I did was on front label, and the cupcakes that embellish the card and envelop. Hope you try this. Let me know what you think!

Z- Fold Card

Cardstock Base:  11 x 4 ¼” (Card front is horizontal in nature, but could be used vertically, which would change the look of the card.) I used Rich Razzleberry  (#115316)

                Score at 2 ¾” and 5 ½”

Strip: (can be any width) but I used 1 ½” x 11”

                Score at 5 ½” and 2 ¾”

DSP (Designer Series Paper) ~ I used Springtime Foils ( #147193)

                2 pieces cut at  2 ½” x  4”;

1 piece cut at 5” x 3 ¾”

2 pieces cut at 1 ¼”” x 2 ½”

Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) for the back of the card for my message 5 ¼”  x 4”

Dies: Large Numbers (#140622)

Happy Birthday (#143700) cut this apart

Birthday Edgelits( #148548) ~ birthday presents, cut apart

(I cut out 2 sets, 1 was in Rich Razzleberry, the other in Powder Pink (#144244)

3 Cupcakes outline

Party Pop-Up Thilits ( #140620) ~ I used this on the back of the card for more interest

Stitched Labels Framelits Dies (#146828) for the sentiment

Stamp Sets: Stitched All Around (#146632) “Enjoy your special day”

Birthday Cheer (148604) ~ I stamped 3 cupcakes and colored them in with Stampin’Blends

Folding the card: Base should be folded Mountain, then Valley (opposite ways)

Strip should be folded Valley, then Mountain (just the opposite of the base)

Adhere the DSP pieces to the card base and the strip, leaving a 1/8” border around the edges.

*** (Make sure that you decorate the right side of the strip before gluing the DSP to the strip! See warning below!)

Attach the strip to the Base Card. Make sure that the long part of the strip is attached to the short part of the card, and that the short part of the strip is attached to the longer side of the base card

***Warning: make sure that the card will fold flat (if it does not, flip the strip around!)

I placed the Happy on the front side of the card, and made sure that only the word “day” showed when the card lay flat. So, the recipient will only see “Happy day” when they receive the card. Then, when they open the card, they will see the number on the strip (hidden) and the complete word “birthday” as their surprise!

I also embellished the card with the 3 cupcakes. You can decide to use whatever else tickles your fancy!

New Hope:

1. Update blog every single week!
2. Take pictures of all cards created
3. Start video taping the steps needed to create such cards
4. Add Stampin' Up! store to my blog!
5. Encourage more stampin' people

Trying to get caught up with some leftover "chores" from this past weekend...whew, still lots to get done!

I am going to try to get to this blog a lot more regularly, but who knows...it might be another 6 months before I get on again! I must get a schedule going with this!

 Dream Big

May 29, 2018

After a whirlwind trip to Colorado's Western Slope last week, we are finally home and trying to relax. We had a great time, though. David was teaching a Responsible Liquor Class to owners and employees of liquor establishments on the Western Slope. After three days of the class, I think I could now pass his test!

Living in the country with 35 acres is no picnic! Weeds grow everywhere, and one must keep up to make the yard look presentable. We finally decided to have our friend plant some barley in spots where nothing else grows. Since it doesn't get irrigation water, we planted early in the spring so it would receive moisture from Mother Nature. What a brilliant idea! It is now coming up nice and thick! Hopefully that will keep most of the goatheads from popping up! Those spread like wildfire if not kept under control...much like the Canadian thistle that thrives in our yard, if we'd let it!

I haven't had much time in my garden lately. As I get older, it just doesn't have the same excitement of seeing my little seedlings come up...but, I did get a few things in the ground. I just can't believe it is almost June, and I am just now planting my garden!
